For connecting mSense sensors, it is highly recommended to use Messana mWire or an equivalent high-quality cable.

mWire is a two-pair tangle free cable explicitly designed for daisy chain configuration with mSense sensors. It is supplied in a 500ft box (MWIRE500).

mWire specifications

Five stranded conductors divided in two pairs:

Pair 1 (Power) – Supplies 24VDC power to the mSense.

  1. Black (Com) – 18 AWG (0.81 mm2)
  2. Red (24VDC) – 18 AWG (0.81 mm2)

Five stranded conductors divided in two pairs:

Pair 2 (Data Communication) – A twisted pair with aluminum foil shielding and drain wire, dedicated to RS485 communication.

  1. White (Data + ) – 22 AWG (0.33 mm2)
  2. Green (Data – ) – 22 AWG (0.33 mm2)
