For optimal thermal comfort, it is crucial that mSense sensors are installed in each zone while adhering to the following guidelines for proper positioning:
- Height Placement: Install the sensor 5 to 7 feet off the floor to achieve optimal temperature detection.
- Location: Install the sensor on an internal wall, away from direct sunlight and air drafts, to ensure accurate readings.
- Avoid Obstructions: Install the sensor in a location where it cannot be covered or obstructed by doors, furniture, or drapery.
- Equipment Interference: Install the sensor away from devices that generate heat, cold, or humidity.
Furthermore, it is important to avoid the following:
- Placing the sensor on perimeter walls.
- Installing the sensor in close proximity to a fan coil grid or any other similar devices.
- Positioning the sensor in front of a window to prevent direct exposure to sunlight.
Please note that ceiling installation of the mSense sensors is generally not recommended, especially for systems with fan coils that cause air stratification. If wall installation is not feasible, ceiling installation may be considered as a last resort option.
