The 2×4 panel, often identified as “half panel”, is particularly suitable for smaller ceiling areas or can be used in conjunction with 2×8 panels.
It’s important to note that unlike the 2×8 panels, that are symmetrical and include RM 3-way fittings on both sides, the 2×4 panel comes with an RM 2-way fitting on one end and an RM 3-way fitting on the other.
There are two primary installation scenarios:
- Standalone installation: The 2×4 panel should always be installed connecting the leaders to the 2-way fittings and the 3-way fittings should be capped with the RM caps. This configuration prevents stagnation of water and air within the panel’s internal lines.
- Installation with 2×8 panels: The 2×4 panel should be installed at the start of the branch, with leaders connected through the 2-way fitting. The subsequent 2×8 panel can then be connected at the 3-way fitting side of the 2×4 panel.
Note
In case of spare 2x4 panels, these can be joined to create a full 2x8 panel. In such a case, it's crucial to couple the 2x4 panels always on the 2-way RM fitting sides.
