Absolutely! Radiant systems are well suited for dry climates and work exceptionally well in cooling.
Dry climates have lower dew point temperatures (the point at which condensation forms), allowing the radiant system to operate at a lower surface temperature when needed, increasing cooling capacity!
While aiming to provide comfort by reducing the air temperature (sensible heat), traditional air conditioning systems dry out the environment as they cool the air. This means that as an AC system tries to make you comfortable by addressing sensible heat (temperature), it has an adverse effect on humidity (latent heat), wasting energy and disrupting what would otherwise be a comfortable environment.
A Messana radiant cooling system, however, addresses sensible and latent heat loads separately. As the radiant surface provides cooling, it only extracts latent heat, keeping the humidity level neutral to ensure the environment stays both cool and comfortable. If humidity levels are a concern, a Messana system can easily integrate a humidifier or dehumidifier to efficiently manage latent heat loads.
