Messana systems are designed to keep your App, mBox, and connected devices up to date
automatically.
How software updates are delivered:
- Messana App: Updates are released through the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). Make sure automatic updates are enabled on your device to stay up-to-date.
- mBox (system controller): Updates are delivered over the internet directly to your mBox when new firmware becomes available. The process is automatic — no manual action is required.
- mTouch devices: When an mBox update requires a change in the mTouch interface, the update is pushed from the mBox to the mTouch automatically (Note: This applies only to the 5.7” mTouch, not the legacy mTouch models.)
How to check your software version:
- App version:
- Open the Messana App.
-
- Go to Settings → About to see the installed version number.
- mBox firmware version:
- Open the Messana App and navigate to System Settings → Controller Information.
-
- The version number of your mBox firmware is listed.
- mTouch version:
- On the mTouch, tap Settings → About to view the current version.
What to do if your system is not updating:
- Make sure your mBox is connected to the internet (Ethernet recommended for reliability).
- Check that your App is updated via the App Store / Play Store.
- If your App is current but the mBox or mTouch versions appear outdated, please open a
support case and include:
- The version numbers shown for your system.
- A short description of the issue.
