We had a great time visiting a Hyalite Custom Building project in Bozeman, Montana!
This unique 15-zone hydronic system designed by SE Engineers
and managed via Messana Controls; utilizes a radiant ceiling, radiant floor, and Jaga fan coil units for heating and cooling.
The 3,400 sqft home from architects, Thruline Partners, utilizes a Water Furnace geothermal heat pump and Lochinvar backup boiler to generate heated water for the radiant floors. This system takes a unique approach and instead of utilizing a heat pump for chilled water production, it will use the geothermal well to provide year-round cold water for use within the hydronic cooling system. This is possible due to the home’s passive house standards allowing for much lower cooling demands than a typical home. The radiant ceiling will provide radiant cooling while the radiant floor will be used for heating with both able to operate independently due to its 4-pipe arrangement. Lastly, Jaga hydronic fan coils were incorporated to provide supplemental cooling when needed along with a Zehnder ERV with a hydronic pre-heat/pre-cool coil for ventilation.
This 6,976 sqft home in Palo Alto, CA, features three floors plus an ADU, with a complete hydronic heating and cooling system designed by Monterey Energy Group and managed by Messana Controls. Three Viessmann heat pumps, one serving each floor, generate heated and chilled water for a combination of radiant floor heating and cooling and Jaga hydronic fan coils.
This three-story, 7,000 sqft home features a sophisticated 11-zone hydronic system powered by two geothermal heat pumps. Messana Controls will manage heating and cooling throughout the home via a radiant ceiling, radiant floor, and Jaga Astrabeam hydronic fan coils, all working together as one integrated system.
