Some of you may recognize this $32M Malibu home that we posted back in August. Since then, it officially became California’s first zero-carbon certified home!

This home features a multi-speed hydronic fan coil HVAC system that is powered by three air-to-water heat pumps. The entire HVAC system is orchestrated by the Messana mControls platform which activates the three heat pumps based on actual demand. Messana mControls also provide unique energy-saving logic and smart scheduling capabilities.
Each room is equipped with an mTouch pad and one mSense room comfort sensor, which measures operative temperature, humidity, and air quality (VOC) to provide optimal thermal wellbeing.
Our mControls platform also supports remote monitoring and historical data analysis of system performance through a powerful and user-friendly iOS and Android app. Furthermore, the Messana mControls are fully integrated with the home’s Josh.ai home automation system!
